Local band: "Stealing Third" the No Appreciation Tour

It's Friday Night and "Norms" played host to one of the hardest working bands
this side of the St. Clair River. The lack of a mid day sound check
made for some ear splitting feedback but that was very brief and easily
tolerated. The management and Staff at Norms is fantastic for getting the volume
levels just right for their audience and the "Third" crew are more than
accommodating to the lower than Rock volume levels. Tim "the Shank" Shanks
continues to tweak his tone and the evening was filled with some very tasty lead
solo's. I especially liked the Led Zeppelin tune played on a Gibson through a
Line 6 Vetta. That's just wrong and breaks all the rules of rock. But what an
incredible tonal quality, I was amazed. "This is one act
you need to hear for yourself". "Shank Man's" Vocals were up to the task and some bluesy songs rang clear to the parking lot: Where a group of collage students were "shaking to the beat in the drizzling rain". I may need to use that in a song somewhere it has a ring to it and it paints a picture of what an evening with "Stealin Third" is all about.
"Heartbeat" Dave Needham gave his usual flawless performance and coasted most of the evening with ease.
As a Musician "I am so jealous of truly talented people sometimes"- Johnny Warrent. Brad "Thumper" Andrews had some sweet Bass riffs and his vocals are coming along nicely. Brad Kenny who from this day forward will simply be called "Tom or Mr. Petty" really needs to tweak his amp and had way too low lead solo's: Made up for that in spades with a Tom Petty that is amazing, add to that some Kid Rock and a host of other impressions and you have a band that can seriously rock a bar. I am disappointed that my trip to fetch a Sharpie to have my T shirt signed missed some of the more provocative audience participation, but such is the life of Johnny Warrant. Keep up what ever it is you are doing, "cause it's sounding really fine". Thanks to Moose-head Beer and Norms for the T shirt, and Yes I had it signed by the band, and No it's not for sale.
Cheers Johnny

Local band: Hydrosmith
Hydrosmith: Formed in 2006 by Mr.
Peter Bourassa; this Classic Rock, Charity; Concert
Arena; 6 piece; Vocally Diverse: High Energy: Musical Production: "You won't
believe your ears!", band is quickly becoming a legend in the local music
scene.
Hydrosmith
is Travis Splitt, Tim
Shanks, Bryan Doull, Alain Levesque, Peter Bourassa
and Dave Nedham. To list the talents of these rockers would take far too
long.
Hydrosmith; has a performance, presence and sound quality worthy of stadiums and large concert events. Here's the kicker these guy's still work for a living and largely perform for the fun of it. They support charities like the United way! That's right after an evening of completely impressive classic rock this six piece production band can be seen "hauling their own equipment off stage and driving to work on Monday Morning" just like us regular guy's. That whole "concept" just makes you love the "concept of Hydrosmith" even more.
The next time you are trying to decide how much you can afford to donate to your favorite charity remember Mr. Peter Bourassa, Travis Splitt, Tim Shanks, Bryan Doull, Alain Levesque, and Dave Needham; and the unbelievable entertainment quality that is Hydrosmith and give a little more!
Thanks Peter you have created a fabulously entertaining band with a quality that I have not seen matched in years, and you are all having fun doing it, the charity events are more than noteworthy; A true fan Johnny Warrent.
